Greetings from The Berry Queens!

To Our Totally Rad Berry Queens Fam,

Can you believe it?! We’re about to moonwalk into our 17th year of Berry Queens awesomeness—raising funds and fun right here in New Iberia! Like, whoa. It’s been a totally righteous ride, and I gotta say—it’s been a gnarly joy for me, the Berry Queen Board of Directors, and our whole glam squad of members. Serious feels, y’all.

Over the last two years, we cranked it to 11—with mega help from local     heroes, cool businesses, and our fierce Queen crew—we took a power move leap and formed our very own LLC. Why? So we could keep rockin’ our    mission and take on fresh causes that matter right here in the Berry. 

Here’s the scoop on the rad stuff we’ve been up to:

¨ We joined forces with the City to clean up our streets—Trash Patrol style.

¨ We’ve upgraded 8 classrooms in Iberia Parish Schools—talk about a makeover worthy of MTV’s House of Style.

¨ We gave out two $1,000 Entrepreneurial Scholarships in honor of the legendary Doyle Coppell to high schoolers ready to launch their own biz dreams. Hello, future moguls!

¨ We totally sent Westgate’s “Educators Rising” crew to Disney for their Florida convention. Yes, Mickey was shook.

¨ Our classic “Princess & Pearls” got an 80s remix! Now it’s “Beauties & Beauxs”, where we hook up local students with glam gear for  Homecoming and Prom—totally free.      Can you say Ferris Bueller’s dream closet?

And hold on to your scrunchies—we’re not done!

This year, we’re launching teacher grants—a $500 monthly gift to help cover classroom needs that school budgets just can’t swing. Because our teachers  deserve more than just apples and ‘atta girls and “We’re  notgonna take it—NO! We’ll help to remake it! Berry Queens love our teachers…that’s for sure!!!”

We’re teaming up with our totally tubular members and partner orgs to keep the good vibes rollin’ and continue making New Iberia rad in every way we can.

To everyone who’s thrown in their time, talent, or treasure—you’re the real MVPs of this glam jam. Seriously, we are like, SO grateful. Our hearts—and tiaras—are full.
